I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Design and Merchandising from Drexel University in Philadelphia and spent years working in retail management, manufacturing management, textile design, and interior design services.  I am addicted to color and pattern but appreciate it best in the easy-to-replace areas, not in wildly patterned wallpaper that covers the entire first floor, for example.  Colorful mosaic tiles that hide the footprints at the front door?  Distinctive tile around the fireplace surround or on the kitchen backsplash?  Throw pillows on the couch, patterned rugs, great photos?  Indigenous art gathered on travels around the US and the world?  All of that is good.

I also earned a Master Gardener certificate and worked in that industry until sudden and severe posion ivy reactions rendered that career move impossible.  Such is life!  I can identify a lot of trees and shrubs now though, specifically those that might damage your foundation, those that are fine specimens, and those that should never have been planted there in the first place.  I can spot the gems in an overgrown garden and advise on moving plants.  I am not an expert, just a slightly educated amateur who would garden day and night, except for mosquitos.  And poison ivy.  And time.

I entered the real estate profession because of a sincere desire to help families and individuals find the perfect property for them. My understanding of needs and wants and balancing them in the face of budget constraints are key components of my strengths in my work.  I once heard a housing specialist talk about her high-end clients and I mentioned budget.  She was a bit surprised but noted that no matter what the buying price point was, budget was always an issue.  Having been raised in a very large family, budget is my middle name.

My family (husband of 3+ decades and 3 mostly grown children) and I have moved several times as work opportunities have changed. I have lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania (again), England, and Michigan. I understand the emotions involved in real estate transactions and am fully prepared to help streamline the process of buying and selling to lessen stress for everyone involved.

If you are really, really lucky, you will catch me when I am dividing overgrown plants and I will offer some to you for your garden.  No guarantees on that though - best to buy in spring or fall if you hope to benefit there!
